SURF BAGEL FENWICK ANNOUNCES OPENING MANAGEMENT TEAM

Matt Patton, President of Surf Bagel, recently announced the names of the management team opening Surf Bagel's fifth location, in Fenwick Island. Charlotte Jump and Sara Cessna will head the team as general managers, with Lenny Landero in the role of assistant manager. Joe Charles, Corporate Chef of Surf Bagel, will oversee all culinary aspects of the business. Wes Books will oversee the team as Director of Operations.

Each manager has a unique skill set and years of experience in the service industry." said Patton "Their knowledge, passion, and hard work ensures that they will continue Surf Bagel's legacy of serving fresh baked New York style bagels in a fun, laid back environment."  

Jump, a Bear native, attended Appoquinimink High School and graduated from Geneva College in 2017 with a degree in Biochemistry. Jump moved to Rehoboth in 2018 and worked in several local restaurants as a server, bartender, and brewer. Jump joined the Surf Bagel team in 2022 as an assistant manager at the Midway location, where she was quickly promoted to the position of general manager. Under her leadership, the Midway store and staff experienced immense growth and success.   

Cessna was born in Dover, Delaware, but grew up in a variety of places due to her Father’s position as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Cessna spent 5 years working for a well known multinational chain of coffeehouses; starting as a barista and eventually advancing to Store Manager of one of the area's busiest stores.   

Assistant manager Lenny Landero will be new to the Surf Bagel team. Landero has worked in a variety of Fenwick Island restaurants, excelling in both front of the house and back of the house positions. Joe Charles and Wes Books currently oversee the culinary and business operations of all Surf Bagel locations, and are excited to add a fifth store to their repertoire.   

The Fenwick Island management team is working hard to open later this fall; ready to serve delicious fresh baked bagels, smoothies, wraps, coffee, and iconic merch with fast and friendly service.
